LIC women employees hold convention, elect new committee

JAMMU, May 9: Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA) women sub-committee of Srinagar Division representing women employees of J&K held its annual convention at Jammu.
The convention was jointly presided over by Neelam Sharma, convener, Sushma Jamwal, co-convener and members—- Rekha Rani and Alkiya Sharma. A large number of women participated in the convention.
The discussion was held on various topics like Women Reservation Bill, women empowerment, women role in society and in organization.
While speaking on the occasion, Neelam Sharma elaborated the proposed Women Reservation Bill and condemned the role of various political parties in not passing the bill in Parliament. She said that to improve the quality of life of women in India and to bring them at par with the men, it is very important that the Women Reservation Bill is passed in the Parliament at the earliest.
Others who took part in the discussion were Sushma Jamwal, Alkiya Sharma, Rekha Rani, Sudesh Gupta and Ruchi Jamwal.
Meanwhile, the association elected new committee with Neelam Sharma as convener, Sushma Jamwal as co-convener, Nazima Hasan Bhat as co-convener while Alkiya Sharma, Rekha Rani, Anuradha, Ruchi Jamwal, Shunali Gupta, Priya Sharma and Sunayna Pandita as members.
