Life-imprisonment to three in murder case

RAMBAN, Sept 29: Principal Sessions Judge Ramban, M A Chowdhary today awarded life imprisonment to three accused, who were facing trial in murder case for the last eight years.
According to the police case, on September 18, 2004, one Bir Singh alias Munna, son of Dharam Chand of Phalti Mitra, Ramban was killed by three persons namely Gian Singh, son of Ishar Dass Thakur, Jasbir Singh, son of Gian Singh Thakur, both residents of Phalti Mitra and Kasturi Lal, son of Ishar Dass Thakur of Kanga over a trivial issue.
After hearing Public Prosecutor G N Manhas for the State whereas Advocate Aasif Hamid for the accused persons, Principal Sessions Judge, Ramban observed,  “the interest of the justice would be served with a sentence of life-imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 302 read with 34 RPC and rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years and fine of Rs 1000 for the commission of offence punishable under Section 348 RPC”.
The Court, however, clarified that all the sentences would run concurrently.
