JAMMU, Aug 21: The people in Chenab Valley have appealed the authorities to restore the internet services in the area which have been banned for last some time due to unrest in Valley.
“It is very difficult to remain without internet facilities in this progressive and scientific age for such a long period” said Ramesh Kumar a youth from Kishtwar.
He said internet facilities are being availed by the people for dissemination of knowledge, to remain linked to external world and seek knowledge as well. But depriving people of this facility for such a long period is taking them back to stone -age, he added.
His colleague Ashraf Qureshi also a student said that there is no fun in banning the internet facilities in Chenab valley where people live in complete peace and harmony and when there are no supporters of secessionists in the area. He demanded that the ban on internet be lifted so that the people seek day to day information and remain in touch with outer world which has been converted into the global village now.
