JAMMU, Mar 5: Lions Cricket Club Bohri, Jammu defeated Krishna Cricket Club Akhnoor in an easy contest by 7 wickets in the ongoing ‘Salute & Tribute to Sunjuwan Martyrs’ Jammu District Rural Cricket Tournament at Parade ground, here today.
Earlier, Lions Cricket Club won the toss and put Krishna CC into bat. Batting first, Krishna Cricket Club scored a modest total of 133 runs in 22.2 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Deepak top scored with 40 runs, while Binny and Shindi contributed 33 and 29 runs to the total respectively. Vinod was the wrecker-in-chief for Lions Cricket Club Bohri, who took 4 important wickets, while Abhinav and Naman bagged 2 wickets each. Ritik and Rahul also claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Lions Cricket Club chased the target easily in 16.3 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Naman top scored with 35 runs, while Puran and Rahul contributed 27 runs each to the total. From Krishna Cricket Club, Deepak took 2 wickets, while Mohit claimed one.
The match was officiated by Harsh Nayyar and Kapil Dev Mahajan as umpires.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Wazir Cricket Club Nagrota will take on Bhatia Cricket Club Bishnah.
The Tournament is being organized by the Jammu District Cricket Alliance, under the aegis of Parade Sports Association (PSA) and is being held under the overall supervision of Vijay Sabarwal, President PSA.
