JAMMU, Feb 1: Some literary and cultural organizations have taken strong exception over ignoring Jammu in the Search Committee constituted by the State Government to shortlist names for the new Secretary of the J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages.
Advocate Harish Kaila, president, Nami Dogri Sanstha and Mohan Singh, president, Duggar Manch, have raised objections over formation of the Committee, which has only one member from Jammu out of total five. “This speaks of bias against Jammu which has got virtually no representation from Dogra community,” they said in a statement, issued here today.
“The search committee should have due representation from Jammu which must look after the interests of Jammu,” added the presidents of Nami Dogri Sanstha and Duggar Manch, who also drew attention of the Governor towards an FIR number 74/2016, dated 21.10.2016 against Zafar Iqbal Manhas for illegal appointments in the Academy during his tenure as the Secretary JKAACL.
