Little Angel outplays Tiny Scholars in Rugby

JAMMU, July 30: Depart-ment of Youth Services and Sports today organized the Inter School District Level Tourna-ments in various disciplines in Kathua and Doda districts.
In Kathua district, the competitions were organized in the disciplines of Rugby and Karate for Under 19 Boys and Girls at Sports Stadium, Kathua.
The boys of Little Angel Higher Secondary School Kathua outplayed Tiny Scholars Kathua by 0-2 in Rugby while in Karate, Cimpy Sharma and Dhairya Thakur of Little Angels won the titles in below 40 Kg and below 44 Kg categories, respectively. The title of below 50 Kg (Boys) was secured by Roshan Yadav of Government HSS Kathua while the below 55 Kg title was secured by Omkar Singh of Government HSS Marheen.
Balvinder Singh of Govern-ment HSS Marheen won the title of below 60 Kg in Karate whereas Mohit Kumar of St Xavier Convent School, Hatli Morh excelled in above 70 Kg category. As many as 26 players of eight schools of the district took part in today’s event.
In Doda district, the competitions were organized in the disciplines of Volley Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Wrestling for Under- 19 Boys at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Bhaderwah.
The tournament was inaugurated by Sub-Divisional Magist-rate Bhaderwah, Mohammad Anwar Banday. District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Doda, Incharge Principal, HSS Boys Bhaderwah and Zonal Physical Education Officers of various zones were also present on the occasion.
In Volleyball, HSS Gowari defeated HSS Sinno, while in Kabaddi HSS Goha beat HSS Bhaderwah. In Kho-Kho, HSS Thathri outplayed HSS Malothi.
