L&O has improved a lot in BJP rule: Yogi

LUCKNOW, May 5:
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath today claimed that the law and order in the state has improved a lot after the BJP Government came to power one and a half months back.
“The rule of law has prevailed in UP and all the people in the country are appreciating the functioning of the State Government,” claimed the Chief Minister.
In his first media interaction, Mr Adityanath said that there could be some incidents of violence or crime but that cannot be linked directly with the law and order situation of the state. “The police has changed and now anyone breaking the law would be strictly dealt with.”
When asked about the Bulandshahr incident where a 60-year-old Muslim was lynched to death by some activists of Hindu organisation recently, the CM said, “It was a matter between the families and they too have accepted that  there is no such law and order problem.”
However, the CM refused to elaborate further on the Bulandshahr matter, evading questions about the Saharanpur violence.
Talking about the implementation of Real Estate Regulation Act, the CM said that the Government will soon set up the regularity authority within a month’s time and the Government will not allow blackmailing of the consumers.
“The buyers of Noida and Ghaziabad had met me and I have assured them of setting up of an authority very soon,” he said.
The CM met Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu here where the Union Minister presented him cheques worth  Rs  1,263 crore, which included  Rs 375 crore for Amrut Scheme,  Rs 482 crore for Smart cities and Rs 446 crore for the Lucknow Metro rail.
Mr Adiyanath said the first phase of Lucknow Metro of 8.5 kilometers between Transport Nagar to Charbagh would run after mid June.” We are waiting for the fourth train to come and then only the safety commissioner of railways will give its clearance. But still it will need another 45 days to complete the formalities,” he said.
Commenting on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, he said that the rating issued yesterday, had given a very wrong picture of UP. “Only Varanasi was at the 32nd place but nine cities of the state have been identified as the dirtiest.
We have started making efforts by  making all the cities open defecation  free by the end of this year,” he said while adding that ”help would be taken from social organisation and companies to support our target.”
He said the UP Government has already made 2.98 toilets besides 3550 community toilets and 235 group toilets in the state. (PTI)
