UDHAMPUR, May 10: Up in arms against opening of a wine shop at Karlah, Patnitop, locals of three Panchayats namely Karlah, Pachote and Chakwa held a strong protest demonstration and extended full support to “Nasha Mukti Abhiyan” at Patnitop.
The protesters included mostly women who were demanding immediate closure of the wine shop, opened in the complex of Suriya Hotel Karlah Patnitop. They said that the newly opened wine shop was a nuisance for the school going children in general and woman in particular.
The protesting locals also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Tehsildar Chenani Pardeep Singh, who alongwith SHO Kud Rakesh Singh, was present on the occasion.
Sarpanch Karlah, Pachote and Chakwa were leading the protest demonstration.
