NEW DELHI, Sept 5: The Lok Sabha today paid a tribute to teachers on the Teachers’ Day, celebrated on September 5 to commemorate the birthday of former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a renowned educationist and great scholar and philosopher.
Speaker Meira Kumar, while reading out a reference, said, “In any society teachers shoulder the onerous responsibility of shaping the character of its future generations. They not only impart knowledge but also mould the thought process of the youngsters transforming them into responsible citizens.”
She said the teachers nurture young minds, igniting them the desire to realise their full potential.
She said, “Let us on this occasion, acknowledge with gratitude the invaluable contribution of all the teachers of our country to society.”(UNI)
