Lotra, Abid help J&K to restrict Baroda at 255 runs in 1st innings

JAMMU, Aug 21: Right-arm off-spinner Sahil Lotra and left-arm orthodox Abid Mushtaq spun web around the rival batsmen as Jammu and Kashmir bundled out formidable Baroda for 255 runs in the first innings of the All India Buchi Babu Multi-day Invitational Cricket Tournament, organised by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) at NPR College Cricket Ground, Natham, Chennai today.
Earlier, batting first, Baroda openers began cautiously to make a sedate opening partnership of 26 runs in 84 balls before openers Kinit Patel (18) and Prianshu Moliya (11) were sent back to the pavilion by Abid Mushtaq and Sahil Lotra respectively.
However, bowling all-rounder Ninad Rathwa, coming in at number-8 played a brilliant innings of 111 runs off 123 balls, studded with 11 fours and 6 sixes helped Baroda to reach a decent total of 255 runs.
Shivalik Sharma and Abhimanyu Singh Rajput contributed 32 runs each to the total.
For J&K, Sahil Lotra took 5 wickets by conceding 77 runs in 23.2 overs, while Abid Mushtaq bagged 4 wickets by giving away 100 runs in his 31 overs. Vishal Kumar also claimed one wicket.
In reply, J&K were 29/2 at stumps on Day-1 today. Shubham Pundir and Shivansh Sharma were at the crease on 9 runs each. Shubham Khajuria (8) and Abhinav Puri (01) were dismissed cheaply.
Ninad Rathwa took both the wickets to fall.
