LPEF demands release of GPF, gratuity of pensioners

SRINAGAR, June 29: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF), has expressed grave concern over non -payment of gratuity, leave salary, G P Fund of the pensioners and Government employees for last three months with the result they are facing many hardships.
The LPEF, which met here, today under the leadership of its general secretary, Javed Ahmed Shah said that the employees who have retired have not been paid their dues with the result they as well as their families are in great distress.
The meeting said that some of the retirees have arranged marriages of their grown up children with the hope that after getting the retirement benefits they can utilize the same on the marriage ceremony of their wards but with the constant delay in the release of the same these hapless pensioners are in great trouble. He said the employees have even cancelled the marriages of their children after their retirement dues were not released.
The meeting made an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo and other higher ups in Finance Department to release the funds immediately so that the G P Fund of employees and pensioners besides retirement benefits of pensioners are paid without further delay.
The meeting was attended by secretary LPEF, Nazir Ahmed Magrey, chief organizer, Mohammed Shaban Bhat, LPEF president for district Anantnag , Abdul Rashid Bhat, district president, Baramulla, Ali Mohammed Bhat, Mehraj Ahmed Mir and Manzoor Ahmed Rather.
