LPEF demands salaries of horticulture employees

JAMMU, Aug 11: The Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) has expressed concern over the nonpayment of salaries to the employees of Horticulture Department at Ganderbal for last three months.
The Federation, which held a meeting under the leadership of its general secretary Mohammed Javed Shah said the employees of the Department are at the verge of starvation and the authorities are sleeping over the issue.
The meeting warned that employees will be forced to come to streets in case the pay dues were not released immediately. It also demanded that the Deputy Director Horticulture be given powers to draw the salaries of employees.
The meeting, while highlighting other issues of the employees demanded release of 6 per cent DA from January this year, enhancement of Medical Allowance, regularization of daily wagers and settlement of other demands.
Others who attended the meting included Nazir Ahmed Magray, Khursheed Kabli, Manzoor Ahmed Rather, and Mohammed Shaban Bhat.
