LEH, July 17: The defending champions Ladakh Scouts Regiment Centre Leh lifted 2019 Ladakh Polo Festival Cup for straight forth time by defeating Indus Chushot Polo Club by 6 goals to 4 in the summit clash at Shagaran Chushot, here today.
The Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal was the chief guest on the concluding function and Executive Councillor for Minority Mumtaz Hussain was the guest of honour on the occasion. The seven days annual festival was organized by Indus Chuchot Polo Club and sponsored by Overland Escape .
CEC, Wangyal highly appreciated Tundup Dorjey, Proprietor, Overland Escape and villages of Chushot for organizing this annual festival very successfully since 2016 and assured all possible help from LAHDC, Leh in further progress of this annual festival.
For development of Shagaran Chushot Polo ground, he instructed Indus Chushot Polo Club to prepare a comprehensive DPR and assured that Council will leave no stone unturned to pursue the DPR with Centre and State Governments vigorously.
He said the purpose of this annual festival is to revive culture of polo sports and to put Chuchot on tourist map.
A traditional cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
A good number of foreign and domestic tourists also witnessed the final polo match.
