LOS ANGELES, June 8: “The Martian” actress Mackenzie Davis has joined the cast of “Blade Runner” sequel.
The 29-year-old actress will join Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in the sci-fi project, being directed by “Sicario” helmer Denis Villeneuve, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Plot details of the movie are being kept under wraps. However, it is known that the story takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original.
Ford is reprising his role as replicant hunter Rick Deckard.
Co-writer of the original, Hampton Fancher, and Michael Green have written the screenplay.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in July. (PTI)
