JAMMU, Mar 10: Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch constituency, Madan Lal Sharma has claimed that only Congress party can ensure better development in the State.
Addressing public meetings at Purani Mandi and Janipur in Jammu and Amb Gharota today the Congress leader called upon the people of Jammu region to support Congress Party for seeking better development. He said only Congress Party can ensure better development in all the three regions of the State. He said Congress has taken many decisions for the welfare of the people of this country and it has also taken effective steps to curb the menace of corruption.
Elaborating further, the senior Congress leader said that the development which the people of Jammu are seeing is due to the Coalition Government in J&K and UPA at the Centre. He said that Congress has provided all support to the State Government led by Omar Abdullah and the joint efforts of the NC and Congress have not only given new Administrative units but also implemented 73rd amendment which have strengthened the democracy as grass root level.
Mr Sharma pointed out that during his tenure as MP, he has bought many projects/schemes from the Centre in shape of bridges, roads, tourism and other infrastructure and sanctioning of Railway Division for Jammu is a historical gift of the UPA Government to the people of J&K. He said there is still need of more administrative units and many issues of refugees, border and rural people were pending. The MP claimed that he would continue to struggle for the pending issues of the people.
