SRINAGAR, July 10: To offer condolences and express solidarity with family members of slain Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, Waseem Bari, party national general secretary, incharge UTs of J&K and Ladakh, Ram Madhav will visit Kashmir on Sunday.
Sources in the BJP said that Madhav has confirmed his visit to Kashmir with a sole aim of visiting Muslimabad residence of slain Bari in Bandipora district. “He will meet the wife and other family members of slain Waseem Bari and express his solidarity with the bereaved. He will also be accompanied by BJP national vice president and former MP, Avinash Rai Khanna.
Later, Madhav besides attending a condolence meeting at Srinagar will also meet party workers in the Summer Capital,” sources said, adding that the BJP general secretary will reach Kashmir along with Khanna on Sunday morning and right away travel to Bandipora district to the residence of late party leader.
“A meeting with the BJP workers from Srinagar and other districts has also been scheduled with Madhav,” sources said. The J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina and Party general secretary (Org), Ashok Kaul are presently camping in Valley and they are also scheduled to accompany Madhav and Khanna during their visit to Bari’s residence in Bandipora. Later the two leaders will also participate in the party meeting at Srinagar and give complete feed back to Madhav on prevailing situation in Kashmir.
Sources said the Madhav and Khanna will have detailed discussion with Party men of the Valley regarding prevailing political scenario as well as law and order situation following the recent killing of a Sarpanch belonging to minority Kashmiri Pandit community in South Kashmir’s Anatnag district and BJP leader, his father and brother in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Sources said BJP leaders will also boost the morale of the party activists in the Valley and have overview of their security and they may likely meet the senior police and civil officers including LG to discuss the overall situation and security scenario with them.
