JAMMU, Dec 30: Magnificent 86 runs off just 40 balls by Sunil Bali guided Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu to thrash PDD-XI by a huge margin of 105 runs and sailed into the next stage of the ongoing CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League, being played at KC Sports Club Ground, here today.
The CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League is being organized by Vivek Bhardwaj, Deputy Director and Head, CII J&K State Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Batting first, Media-XI CC led by Skipper Mir Imran made 205 runs with the loss of just three wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sunil Bali played some crispy shots and made 86 runs in 40 balls, while Amit Kumar scored 36 runs in 33 balls. Nitin Kanotra contributed with 17 runs off 18 balls.
For PDD-XI side, Ratneesh Puri took two wickets, while Jagdish Singh scalped one wicket in their allotted four overs spell.
Chasing the target, PDD-XI led by Skipper Munish Chib was bundled out at paltry 100 runs and lost the match by a big margin of 105 runs. Varinder was the top scorer with 31 runs in 32 balls, while Amit Gupta, who made 12 runs in 13 balls, was the second highest scorer.
For Media-XI CC, Faheem Tak, Des Raj alias Bittu and Sachin Singh (Manager Media-XI CC Jammu) bowled well and scalped 2 wickets each, while Yash Khajuria and Rahul Khatri took 1 wicket apiece.
On the valedictory function, Rajesh Gill, Chief prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Player presented Man of the Match trophy to Sunil Bali for his splendid batting performance.
CII, keeping up with its promise to promote sports in J&K is organizing the first edition of CII Corporate Cricket League. 10 teams from Corporate Sector, Banks and Government Departments are competing for the title trophy.
