JAMMU, Oct 27: VK Magoo, Working President J&K Table Tennis Association inaugurated the 33rd Jammu District Table Tennis Championship in an impressive function at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today. Mr Magoo encouraged the young players of the Jammu and advised them to play in the right spirit of the game.
Around 180 participants will be taking part in different age groups to be held in the next 4 days.
In Under-12 Boys (Cadet boys, first round),
Lakshay beat Amitansh 11-2,11-3, Harman defeated Shalin 11-8,11-3, Agrim prevailed over Sach 11-8, 11-3, Anirudh got the better of Ashman 11-6,11-6, Arya trounced Gursharan 11-5, 11-9, Vishav trounced Triujal 11-1, 11-3, Shubham outplayed Anurag 11-3, 11-8, Samarth outclassed Nitin 11-1, 11-3 and Divyansh drubbed Vivek 11-4, 11-5.
In Under-12 Girls (Cadet girls, first round), Misthi drubbed Snigdha 11-8,11-4, Sonia beat Karen 11-3,11-1, Divyanshi trounced Shubhima 11-8, 11-5 and Hargun prevailed over Gouri 11-9, 11-9.
Prominent among those present on the opening ceremony were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Anil Dutta, Narinder Singh, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra, Sanjeev Gupta and Anuj Verma.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra, Meenu Rajesh, Asad and Aditya.
