JAMMU, June 6: Annual Mahayajnya of Jagadguru Bhagwan Gopinathji was performed across the country and abroad today, corresponding to lunar calendar date “Zyesht Zoon Pach Doi” with utmost devotion, gaiety and fervor for the universal peace and brotherhood.
At Jammu, it was performed at Bhagwan Gopinathji Ashram at Udaiwala, Bohri. The Mahayajnya started at 9 pm on Sunday, June 5 and culminated with Puranahuti at 1 pm today, followed by Prasad Vitran. Thousands of devotees thronged the Ashram from early morning to pay their obeisance at the Lotus Feet of the Master.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the Trust in advance for smooth and successful conduct of the Mahayajnya. Hundreds of devotees including children, young and old rendered self-less services at various counters viz distribution of Prasad, safe custody of shoes, refreshment including fruit, lemon water etc.
Hassle-free movement of devotees was ensured at the Ashram premises. Bhajan and Kirtan continued for the whole day creating an atmosphere of bliss and Ananda.  The Samohik evening Aarti marked the culmination of the day’s proceedings. The function passed off peacefully, thaks to the orderly behavior of the devotees and presence of police personnel at the premises.
On the occasion the Trust release a CD titled ‘Aalav’ containing some of the old traditional devotional songs selected from ‘Sharika Lahiri’ sung by a noted singer, Iqbal Koul to preserve our rich old culture and heritage. Trust also released a book titled Guru Oadan Tal, which is a collection of devotional poems composed by Dr Roshan Saraf.
The other major centres where the Mahayajnya was simultaneously performed included Ashrams at Gole Gujral, Pamposh Enclave New Delhi, Vikaspuri West Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jallandhar, Jaipur, Chembur and Kandivailli in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore and also at various other Satsang Mandals across the globe.
At Srinagar the annual Mahayajnya was performed at Bhagwan Gopinathji Ashram in Khanyar which was attended by a large number of Kashmiri Pandits. Around 2000 Kashmiri Pandits residing in Valley participated in Hawan. However rush continued upto late in the evening as devotees continued to throng the Ashram to pay obeisance to Bhagwanji. The entire Ashram gave a festive look as it was fully decorated and illuminated by the devotees and volunteers of Bhagwan Gopinath Trust which had organized the function.
Pooja was performed in the Ashram by devotees and Sadhus by reciting Bhajans and chanting Mantras, followed by serving Prasad and offering Dakshina to Sadhus. Later Prasad was served to devotees till late evening. Adequate arrangements were made by  Bhagwan Gopinath Trust to facilitate the devotees and common public who thronged the Ashram. Prayers were offered for universal peace, brotherhood and upliftment of humanity.
Mahajayanti of Bhagwanji was also celebrated at other Ashrams.
