JAMMU, Oct 11: PEACE, Social and Cultural Organization organized ‘Maharaja Hari Singh Night Cricket Tournament’ at D.B.N. Ground, Mubarak Mandi, here.
Shiv Kumar Chauhan, SP City, Jammu inaugurated the tournament.
Floral tributes were paid to last ruler of Dogra dynasty who contributed for the development of every region of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Narinder Sharma, president PEACE and general secretary, Varun Magotra introduced the players with the chief guest.
The inaugural match was played between 999 Worrier team of Bhathindi and Wazir Cricket Club  (WCC) Teams WCC won the toss and announced to bat first. The tournament will be purely on knock out system with no re-entry and replay.
While speaking on this occasion, SP City appreciated the efforts of PEACE Organization for organizing such an events as these activities create an atmosphere of brotherhood. He hoped that by this way the younger generation will surely be aware of their heritage.
Narinder Sharma, president PEACE highlighted the achievements of Maharaja for bringing reforms in the State as he was a great visionary ruler of Dogra dynasty, while Varun Magotra appealed young players to shun drugs and take part in sports and games.
Prominent among those who were also present on this occasion were Joginder Singh Manhas, Sudhir Singh Jamwal, Sunil Sharma, Rajesh Sharma and Deepak Sharma.
