Mahila Cong launches ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’

JAMMU, Nov 21:  In connection with the ongoing ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ J&K Mahila Congress today organized a rally at Ranibagh to educate the people about anti-poor policies being propagated by the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre.
Former MLA and president of J&K Mahila Congress, Indu Pawar, while addressing the rally, said that this Jan Jagran campaign has been launched to expose the BJP led Government which is putting an additional burden on the common masses by with rising inflation.
On the directions of the Congress high command this campaign has been launched to mobilize people against anti-poor policies of the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre.
Indu Pawar said that Mahila Congress has decided to mobilize public in general and womenfolk in particular against pro-rich policies of the BJP led dispensation at the Centre.
Former MLA exhorted the women to come on the streets to oppose anti-poor policies being pursued by the BJP Government just to fulfil the interests of Corporate houses.
“BJP led NDA Government is insensitive to the problems being faced by an ordinary citizens in day to day life. Government is busy in increasing prices and imposing taxes on the commoners”, she regretted but assured the people that under such a situation Congress party is committed to raise voice of people by way of holding protests demonstrations against the policies of the Government which is a democratic way of peaceful protests.
She assured that the ongoing campaign would be intensified in the days to come so as to put pressure on the Government to give some relief to the people.
From November 14 to 29, Congress workers and leaders will march through villages and towns, speaking to people on the BJP‘s policies that resulted in high inflation in the country.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Reeta Kanojia, Babby, Vishno Devi, Sultana, Santosh and others.
