JAMMU, May 5: Pradesh Mahila Congress and District Minority wing activists of the party held separate protest demonstrations against Pakistan and Modi Govt for its inaction here today.
A large number of Mahila Congress workers led by Indu Pawar, State Mahila Wing president and former MLA, assembled at Press Club in the morning and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against Pakistan for its cowardice act of beheading of two Indian soldiers near the Line of Control and inaction by the BJP led NDA Govt at the Centre. They also burnt the effigy of Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif.
They condemned the act of Pakistan army and demanded that Govt of India should take appropriate action against the Pakistani troops. The Mahila protesters were carrying bangles for presenting to the BJP leaders in New Delhi including Prime minister, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and others.
Pawar said that nation was boiling with rage and looking towards Prime Minister expecting strong action. India must give a befitting reply to Pakistan for its most provocative act. She said national was waiting for an immediate action.
Several senior women activists including Vandana Makhnotra, Santosh Sharma, Sheetal Chib, Rita Kanojia, Sunita Rajput, Bhupinder Kour, Sita Devi, Kanta and others accompanied Pawar.
Meanwhile, Jammu District Minority Department of Congress party, held a strong protest demonstration at Shaheedi Chowk here today. A strong resentment was shown by the minority people against Pakistan’s army for its cowardice and barbaric act of beheading two Indian soldiers, after entering into J&K territory. They strongly condemned Pakistan for its Inhuman and barbaric act.
A large number of workers carrying placards in their hands assembled at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, raising slogans against Pakistan and burnt the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharief. They said that this cowardice act of Pakistan is not at all acceptable to anyone in this country and all civilized societies in the world.
This Protest was organized by District Minority chairman, Davinder Singh and his team members. Those who were present on the occasion included- Gurdarshan Singh, Gajan Singh. Davinder Singh, Dalbir Singh, Ravinder Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Gurdeep Singh Reen, Parveen Singh, Baldev Singh, Bikram Singh, Balwinder Singh Rinku, GS Sudan Prince, Manjeet Singh and others.
