JAMMU, June 18: The activists of Pradesh Mahila Congress today held strong protest against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and also burnt their effigies.
A large number of Congress workers led by State president of the Mahila Congress Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA) assembled near Press Club here and held protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against Prime Minister  Modi, Sushma Swaraj and Vasundra Raje for shielding Lalit Modi who is wanted by the Enforcement  Directorate.
The Mahila Congress workers also brunt the effigies of  Narendra Modi and Sushma Swaraj and said that they should clear their stand.  Indu Pawar while addressing Congress workers alleged that BJP Government which claims itself as clean and responsive has been found shielding the accused wanted in multi- crore scandal. He has been provided travel documents and was given safe place to live in Europe. Lalit Modi has been enjoying in London and now in Portugal.
She further alleged that Prime Minister has turned silent and is not coming out with any statement. Mrs Pawar demanded that both PM and External Affairs Minister should step down on moral grounds.
Prominent among other Women activists accompanying Mrs Pawar included Suman Choudhary, Prabha Slathia, Veena Devi, Preety, Rita and Sita besides others. After holding protest for about an hour during the mid day, the Mahila Congress workers dispersed and then joined protest dharna of the Coordination Committee for AIIMS near Tawi bridge.
