JAMMU, May 21: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha today held first meeting of the newly formed working committee of the Sabha under the chairmanship of Romesh Chander Gupta who had recently taken over charge of the president of the Sabha.
On the occasion, Mahajan Rattan T R C Gupta and Prof Chaman Lal Gupta former Union Minister were the chief guests and Mahajan Gouravs L Amar Nath Gupta, Yash Paul Gupta and Jugal Mahajan were the guests of honour.
In his welcome address Romesh Chander Gupta invited suggestions from the members of the working committee to improve working of the Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha. The intelligentsia gave a number of suggestions. The chairman acknowledged the same and assured that their valuable suggestions would be given due attention and appropriate action would be taken in due course of time
T R Gupta, in his speech, desired that the Sabha should keep up the flag of the Mahajan community to give light to all other social organizations in Jammu.
Prof Chaman Lal Gupta stressed for unity and advised leaders of the Mahajan community to join their hands to mitigate sufferings of the needy persons of the Mahajan community to make them self-supporter in these days of economic depression.
Amar Nath Gupta, in his forceful and vibrating speech, stressed that the Sabha should take effective steps to eradicate social evils which have crept in Mahajan community to live a simple and peaceful life.

Yash Paul Gupta advised the Sabha members to ignore their personal interests and come forward to solve the problems, which are being faced by the community members. It would be a great favour to the founders of the Sabha who sacrificed their lives for the upliftment of the needy persons of the Mahajan community.
Jugal Mahajan stressed the need for utilizing the energy of young generation for positive development in the country in general and Mahajan community in particular.
