SRINAGAR, May 29: Minister for Roads & Buildings Abdul Majid Wani today dedicated three important bridges to people of Valley today on National Highway Bye-Pass connecting Pantha-Chowk with Baramulla National Highway incurring a cumulative amount of Rs. 26.75 crore.
Legislators, Javid Mustafa Mir and Nasir Aslam Wani were also present on the occasion.
The three bridges constructed at Lasjan, Padshahi Bagh and Chhanpora Bye-Pass road Srinagar will facilitate the people to travel from all the parts of the Valley to Jammu and other parts of the country.
The 5-span bridge at Lasjan has been completed at an amount of Rs. 16.50 crore. The bridge dedicated on the name of former Minister late G M Mir Lasjan.
The adjoining portion of bridge would be developed and landscaped by Mir Lasjan Trust in association with M/s Jehlum Construction Company.
The Padshahi Bagh Bridge has been constructed at an amount of Rs. 3 crore, whileas, Rs. 7.25 crore has been spent on the completion of Chhanpora Bye-Pass Bridge.
Interacting with media persons on the occasion, the Minister expressed his satisfaction over the completion of construction work on these vital links which he hoped will provide connectivity between different parts of Bye-Pass road and will also ensure hassle free traffic movement on the road.
Majid further said that the Government has taken in hand massive projects of roads, building and bridges to extend infrastructural facilities to the people during last four years of coalition regime. He said that most of the projects have been completed and several others are in pipeline. He said that many more proposals are under consideration for giving a new look to the uncovered areas of the state.
Among others Chief Engineer, R&B, Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers of various wings and prominent persons.
