DODA, Mar 31: Minister for R&B Abdul Majid Wani today said that Congress led UPA Government has ensured better development in the State in past 10 years and people should support Congress candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad whose contribution in the State and especially in this hilly region is exceptional.
Addressing election meetings in support of Congress candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad at Goha, Humbal, Kalhota and Khileni in Doda today, Mr Wani said only Congress can ensure better development in the State. He said Congress is committed for peace and development and this is the only agenda of this party.
The Congress led UPA Government has funded the State in big way by improving road, health, education, tourism infrastructure in the State in last five to 10 years. Mr Azad’s contributions can not be ignored in this regard. Infact, he (Azad) is instrumental in the over all development. He also recalled the achievements of NC-Cong coalition in the State with regard to creation of new administrative units, implementation of 73rd Amendment. He said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi were taking keen interest in the J&K affairs and its development.
Mr Wani appealed the people to ensure the victory of Ghulam Nabi Azad with thumping majority. DCC working president for Doda Mohd Hanief Shah, Urfi Majeed Wani, Block president Kartar Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Mohd Abdullah, Om Parkash Sharma also addressed the gathering.
