JAMMU, May 14: Digiana police foiled a major bovine smuggling bid and rescued 31 milch animals.
As per police sources, on reliable information, police team from Digiana police post laid a naka near Rani Talab and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK02BF-4921 and JK02T-1642.
On seeing police party, the drivers’ speeds up their vehicles and tried to escape, but the cops from Digiana police post chased the vehicles and intercepted them near some distance. The drivers escaped from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
During checking, police rescued 31 bovine animals from the vehicles, which the smugglers were carrying towards Srinagar from Jammu.
A case under FIR number 124/15 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and manhunt has been launched to nab the smugglers.
The whole operation of rescuing bovine animals was carried out by Incharge police post Digiana SI Kirti Sharma under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Paramjeet Singh, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
