Sir,
This is in reference to news item “Tunda was in touch with ISI” DE Aug 19. The authorities concerned deem, arrest of the most wanted terrorist as an achievement pertaining to takcling terror menace. Further, the arrest has turned out to be a goldmine of information for investigators, as reported.
However, such reported breakthrough does not remain free of instant or near future fallouts by inimical forces. Utmost care/preparation should be taken to foil any such retaliation, as observed in the past, by way of hijacking of plane to Afghanisation and release of terrorists or adopting any other designs.
Our country is fighting menace for over 30 years. Enough blood has been shed, apart from death, destruction and destabilisation attempts and ethnic cleansing of over 2 lakh particular community in 1990. We continue to buy peace by paying heavy price and spend astronomical sums on security related measures. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom. However, the reasons for failure to tackle problem will remain always a question mark.
The people of country want results and not assurances. It is hoped that security and safety of citizens is guaranteed and prioritised hereafter.
Yours etc…..
P.K. Mam
