JAMMU, Nov 30: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Bali Bhagat raised serious concern over the problems being faced by the farming community in Marh constituency in general and districts of Jammu region in particular.
In a statement issued here, today, the former Minister termed it unfortunate that the authorities sitting at the helm of affairs are not showing serious concern towards the problems being faced by the farmers’ community. He said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched numerous schemes for the welfare of the farmers but due to the negligence of some officials the farmers are being forced to face shortage of seeds and fertilizers.
Bali Bhagat said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi always gives first preference to the farmers of the country and is keen to resolve all of the issues which these tillers had been confronting since partition of the country. He said that the economy of J&K and for that matter of the country all depends on agriculture and the farmers are the main stakeholders.
“To boost the economy of the country it is vital that the health of the agri-sector remain hale and hearty and for this farmers’ utter satisfaction is important”, he said, adding that under the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s regime no needy or deserving person will have to move from post to pillar to get the due rights.
The former Minister appealed to the Lt Governor to look into the matter and give necessary directions to the concerned department to provide seeds and fertilizers to the farmers on priority so that may not face any inconvenience.
