JAMMU, Nov 9: Drubbing MBS College of Engineering and Technology by four goals to two (4-2) in a well fought match, Govt MAM College Jammu sealed berth in the finals of the Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) Tournament here today.
The players of both the teams showed extraordinary hockey skills and exhibited good game.
Gurpreet Singh scored three goals for the MAM College team in the 2nd, 14th and 15th minutes of the match and the fourth goal was scored by Hash Vaid in the 44th minute.
For MBS College team, both the goals were scored by Sarabjot Singh in the 38th and 40th minutes.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu interacted with the players of both the teams and tossed the coin to start the match.
Others present on the occasion were Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Sumnesh Sharma, Prof Shrikant Sharma, Prof Joginder Kumar, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, Dr.Brij Baloria, Ramesh Magotra, Dr. Pritam Singh, Dr. Kamaldeep Singh and Rajinder Singh.
Meanwhile, the second semifinal match was played between the teams of Govt SPMR College of Commerce and GDC Kathua which was won by the GDC Kathua by 5-2 goals.
Randeep Singh (19th & 55th minutes), Jagandeep Singh (35th & 45th minutes) and Sandeep Singh (40th minute) scored the goals for GDC Kathua team.
For Govt SPMR College of Commerce team Jaskirat Singh and Balmeet Singh scored the goals in the 17th and 51st minutes respectively.
The matches were officiated by Motinderpal Singh, Karanjeet Singh, JS Reen, Harmeek Singh, Harinderpal Singh, Ranveet Singh and PD Singh.
