MAM College, GDC Thanamandi register wins

JAMMU, Jan 28: MAM College Jammu and Government Degree College Thanamandi registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
In the first match, Govt MAM College defeated GDC Reasi by 4 wickets. Batting first, GDC Reasi scored 125 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Shivam Gupta was the top scorer with 36 runs, while Ankush and Reshwant contributed 17 runs each. For MA College, Suja took 3 wickets, while Sukhbir S bagged 2 wickets. Ashutosh and Sidhant claimed one wicket each.
In reply, MAM College, chased the target in 18 overs by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Saif Ali top sored with 47 runs, while KV Singh and Varun Pandita contributed 23 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Anil Puri and Shivam  took 2 wickets each, while Reshwant claimed one wicket for GDC Reasi.
In another match, GDC Thanamandi got better of GDC Bishnah by a narrow margin of 18 runs. Thanamandi scored a fighting total of 136 runs in 16 overs. Sajid Javed and Israr contributed 38 and 29 runs respectively, while Asif and Sajjad chipped in with 16 runs each. Nirmal took 3 wickets, while Shabir claimed 2 wickets and Bitul one.
GDC Bishnah scored 117 runs in 16 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 18 runs. Bitul scored 45 runs, while Keshav and Shubham contributed 18 and 14 runs respectively. For GDC Thanamandi, Waseem took 2 wickets, while Arshad, Mehmood, Shaheen and Asif claimed one wicket each.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain Malik, Raman Kumar, Suresh Singh, Rajkumar Bakshi and Manu Khajuria.
