JAMMU, July 9: NCC Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College here today hosted annual Rank Ceremony for National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the session 2024-25 celebrating commendable achievements of its cadets under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. B.B Anand and under the supervision of Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC Officer of the College.
The chief guest on this occasion was Colonel R.S Jasrotia, Commanding Officer 2nd J&K Battalion NCC Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College said that the College supports NCC programmes as these play a pivotal role in making students disciplined and responsible citizens of the country.
Col. R.S Jasrotia appreciated dedication, discipline and unwavering commitment to excellence of the cadets and encouraged them to reflect the values that NCC stands for like integrity, discipline, unity and character building.
During the ceremony, the Army Wing of MAM NCC launched their annual magazine ‘Samarpan 2024’ which highlights achievements and activities carried out throughout the year.
Additionally, the cadets presented annual report, detailing the names of those who have successfully joined defense forces in recent years.
Notably, ex-Cadet Charanjeet Singh Gill was commissioned as a Flying Officer on June 15, 2024. Furthermore, SUO Vireshwar Singh Manhas among 13 cadets was selected to attend Youth Exchange Programme in Vietnam.
The event concluded with the appointment of new rank holders who demonstrated exemplary leadership and performance.
The newly appointed SUOs were Zorawar Singh and Abhinandan Sharma. Tushant Gupta, Purab Kumar, Lovesh Singh Manhas and Sunit Sharma were appointed as JUOs.
In concluding remarks, Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC Officer thanked the Principal, Dr. B.B Anand and Col. R.S Jasrotia for their continuous support and encouragement towards the NCC programme.
