JAMMU, Jan 16: The IQAC of Government MAM College Jammu organized the preliminary round of Inter Collegiate Symposium for 2nd Annual Rolling Trophy of Jammu Division Colleges to commemorate National Education Day celebrations.
About 25 participants from different colleges of Jammu Division participated in the Symposia. The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Dr Anita Sudan, Principal of the college, followed by Saraswati Vandana by the Music Department under the guidance of Prof Kailash Mehra, HoD Music.
In her welcome address, Dr Anita Sudan stressed on the importance of organizing such academic programmes to ensure a holistic development of the young students.
Dr Twinkle Suri, convenor, IQAC, gave a brief introduction of the contest and highlighted on the importance of the event as the institution is named after Maulana Azad, the erstwhile 1st Education Minister of India.
Prof Rita Munshi, former Principal, Prof Sneh Samyal, former HoD Economics and Sayed Tajamul, Bureau Chief, Gulistan News Channel, were the jury members for the symposia. Prof Jasbir Singh, chairman NSS, University of Jammu, was the observer for the contest.
The members of the IQAC— Dr RK Gupta, Dr Mazammal, Prof Nirlape Kour, Dr Shalini Sharma, Dr Banpreet Kour, Dr Harpreet Kour, Dr. Bindu Chib and Prof Rakesh Sharma were present on the occasion.
Prof Sujat Khan, HoD, Computer Science Department, presented the formal vote of thanks while Manik Sharma of BA Part 2nd conducted the proceedings of the symposia.
