JAMMU, Sept 12: Mamta Mishra of Army Public School Kaluchak bagged gold in Under-19 girls shot put and javelin throw in the Jammu District Inter-School Athletic Meet, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at University Grounds, here.
Babli Devi of HSS Ghorta and Sayali Verma of Jodhamal School claimed silver and bronze in Under-19 girls shot put, while Jasmeen Chib of APS Domana and Sumiya of KB School bagged silver and bronze in Under-19 javelin throw respectively.
In shot put and javelin Under-17 girls, Rifat Choudhary of HS Chowadi claimed gold medals, while in long-jump Under-14 girls, Rajni Devi of HS Simbal Camp clinched gold and in long jump Under-17 girls, Kajal of MRLD Burj Mandir bagged gold.
Sumaya of KB Public School won gold in Under-19 girls long jump event, while the other gold medal winners in various events and different age groups included Priya Sharma, Jamila Akhtar, Kirana Devi, Kulvinder, Sakshi Koul, Fahira and Kamlesh Kumari.
The Meet is being organized under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, DYSSO Jammu, while prominent among others present on the occasion were ZPEOs Sarita Pandha, Jeet Singh, Hira Lal Pandita, Ram Kumar and Sher Singh.
