JAMMU, Oct 4: Bishnah police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka at Ratnal Palli Morh and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but the cops intercepted him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 50 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Manohar Lal, son of Lal Chand, a resident of Khairi, Tehsil Bishnah.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 215/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
