JAMMU, May 24: A man was arrested today with contraband of poppy straw and illicit liquor here today.
As per police spokesman, a team from Samba police station laid a naka and apprehended a person along with 500 grams poppy straw and 70 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Bittu Ram, son of kartar Chand, a resident of Shah Balode, District Samba.
A case in this regard has been registered at Samba police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Samba Inspector Yash Pal Jamwal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Tanveer Ahmed and SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
