JAMMU, Feb 7: Sidhra Police arrested a man along with Rs 66,200 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information about gambling, a team from Police Post Sidhra led by SI Shakil Ahmed conducted raid and apprehended a gambler with Rs 66,200 stake money and playing cards. However, on seeing the cops, his associates managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested person was identified as Showket Ali, son of Ghulam Ali of Khanpur Nagrota.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and hunt has been launched to nab the associates of the arrested gambler.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
