Man dies, 44 test +ve in Jammu

JAMMU/LEH, Aug 27: One person died of COVID-19 while 44 others tested positive in Jammu region and seven new cases were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
An 85-year-old man hailing from Thudi Manjakote in Rajouri district died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri. He had no co-morbidities.
With this, Corona toll in the region has gone up to 2164 and in Rajouri district to 234.
As against 44 new cases, 36 persons today recovered from the virus leaving behind 345 active positives in the Jammu region.
Among seven new cases in Ladakh, three were reported in Leh and four in Kargil district.
The UT of Ladakh now has 66 active positive cases.
