KATHUA, Dec 26: A villager was killed in a road accident near Kootah in tehsil Hiranagar late last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Jeevan Singh, son of Tara Singh, resident of Chhan Khatriyan near Kootah. The mishap took place when he was returning to his village from Londi village. As he boarded off the moving matador, he slipped the fell down on the road.
With serious head injuries he was rushed to Samba hospital where he succumbed after some time. The police seized the mini-bus bearing No. JK-21/3323 while its driver, Naresh Kumar of village Rei in Samba, escaped from the spot. A case has been registered in this connection.
