Man electrocuted

JAMMU, Apr 24: A man today sustained serious injuries due to electrocution in Arnia area.
According to a police spokesman, a vegetable vendor namely Qasim Ali (22) son of Amanat Ali, resident of Uttarakhand (at present residing in Mulechak, Arnia), was cutting branches of a tree at his workplace when he came in contact with a naked electric wire touching the branches of the tree.
The spokesman said that the vegetable vendor received severe electric shock and became unconscious. “He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical”, he added.
He said that concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
