JAMMU, Jan 14: A 55-year old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself near his residence at Dansal area falling under the limits of Jhajjar Kotli police station.
According to police spokesperson, the man identified as Tirth Ram, son of Kartar Nath, a resident of Dansal in Jhajjar Kotli area hanged himself with a tree in a field near his residence, this evening.
The body of the deceased was found hanging by one of the villagers, who informed his family members, who in turn reported the matter to police.
On getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for post mortem.
Though no suicide note was recovered from the spot, the concerned police has registered a case and started investigations.
