Man held in NDPS, UAPA dies in hospital

JAMMU, Nov 23: An accused arrested in NDPS Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act died in a hospital here after developing some health issues.
Police sources said that the accused namely Kuldeep Raj (45) son of Lal Chand of Panjtoot (Akhnoor) who was arrested by Arnia Police on November 3 but lodged in R S Pura Police custody, fainted after complaint of chest pain, late last night.
They said that the accused was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” police sources said.
When contacted, SDPO R S Pura Shabir Khan said that the accused was arrested few days back and he was having some heart problem. Last night, he developed some problem and was taken to the hospital, where he died of ailment.”
“After postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites,” the officer added. He further informed that the deceased was also a history sheeter in Akhnoor area.
