Man held with illicit liquor pouches

RAMBAN, Nov 17: Police arrested a man along with 40 pouches of illicit liquor from bus stand area, here today.
As per police sources, during patrolling, police team from Ramban police station intercepted a person for checking as he was walking under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Ishtiaq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Haneef of Halla. He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people on exorbitant rates.
A case under FIR Number 126/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Ramban police station and investigations started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Vinod Kumar Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
