Man murdered in Shopian

Srinagar,  Apr 23: A 27-year-man, Bilal Ahmad Bhat of Baskuchan Shopian was found dead under mysterious circumstances after he went missing from his house last night and police have detained one person for his murder.
His death sparked protests as hundreds of people came out on streets and demanded probe in the death. Bilal had gone to offer night prayer and did not return. His family members approached neighbours and his friends but found no news about his whereabouts
A police spokesman said that police last evening received information about missing of Bhat. “A report in this regard was entered in the Daily Diary of Police Station Shopian vide number 05”, he added.
Police said that body of Bhat was recovered from an orchard near village Baskushan. “In this regard a case FIR No. 56/2013 under Section 364, 302 RPC has been registered in police station Shopian. The post-mortem of the body was conducted at District Hospital, Shopian. Later the body was handed over to the relatives. The investigation has been started and one person has been detained by Shopian police”, he added.
A mob set afire house of one Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh as they alleged his family is involved in the crime.
After going through preliminary investigations and questioning the
family, police swung into action and arrested Sheikh.
Bilal, Post-graduate in Economics was the alone bread earner of the family.
