JAMMU, Mar 31: Mandeep Kour, Sulekha Kumari and Ashu Devi emerged winners in the senior women category of the two day long Jammu District Boxing Championship, which concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium here today.
Mandeep Kour thrashed Sakshi Dogra, whereas in 45-48 kg category, Sulekha Kumari beat Stenzin in 51-54 kg category. In 54-59 kg category, Ashu Devi trounced Rohina Akhtar.
In senior men, Salem Khan stunned Nitin Sharma in 52-56 kg category, Shubam Sharma outplayed Hardesh Singh in 56-60 kg category, Aman Sharma routed Honey Gupta in 60-64 kg category, Amit Sharma beat Lalit Kumar in 64-69 kg category, Manjeet Singh thrashed Ankush Kumar in 69-75 kg category and Kartik Kapoor beat Peshit in 81-90 kg category.
In sub junior girls, Damini thrashed Amnisa Kumari in 30-32 kg category, whereas, Sakshi outplayed Jaspreet Kour in 33-35 kg category.
In sub junior boys, Parvin Kumar stunned Astik Jamwal in 28-30 kg category, Prajwal Jamwal beat Aryan Manhas in 30-32 kg category, Saksham Jasrotia thrashed Sumit Manhas in 32-24 kg category, Paras Dogra outplayed Ankush Sharma in 40-43 kg category, Arun Sharma routed Aman Sharma in 45-48 kg category, Anil Kumar outplayed Chander Dev Singh in 48-51 kg category, Sunny Kumar thrashed Bamshay in 54-57 kg category and Vishal Singh stunned Ricky in 60-64 kg category.
The matches were officiated by Anil Wadhera, senior boxing coach, Sanjeev Jamwal, boxing coach, Jammu University, Rohit Kumar, Satpal, Rajneesh, Raj, Rajinder Singh and Amit Sharma.
On the valedictory function, Rangeel Singh, president, J&K Olympic Association was the chief guest, who presented medals and certificates amongst the winners in presence of Ashutosh Sharma, vice president, Amateur Boxing Federation of India, Dr Nirmolak Singh, Chairman, Medical Commission Amateur Boxing Federation of India, Sham-shu-Din and Iqbal Singh, athletic coaches and officials of J&K Amateur Boxing Association.
