HIRANAGAR, May 13: Defeating Bishnu XI by 24 runs in the summit clash, Manjeet Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of the ongoing Kaniyahya, Mintu and Manjeet Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized by Hiranagar Cricket Club, here.
Manjeet Cricket Club Channi after winning the toss decided to bat first and scored 134 runs in 20-overs.
In reply, players of Bishu XI failed to chase the target and lost the match by 24 runs. Rahul OF Manjeet Cricket Club scored 44 runs and took one wicket and was declared as the man of match, while Vijay Soodan was declared as the man of the series for his consistent performance.
Former MLC, Subash Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion, who honored the winners with trophy and cash prize of Rs 30,000 and runners-up with trophy and cash prize of Rs 15,000. On the occasion, Subash Gupta lauded the efforts of the organizers especially Manav Manhas, Vishavjeet, Kuldeep Singh, Vishal Sharma and Sachin Manhas for holding a mega event and said that he would also make every possible effort to promote sports.
The match was officiated by Varun Gupta and Amit Sharma as umpires.
