BHADERWAH, Sept 20: Apni Party Provincial president, Jammu and former minister, Manjit Singh today lambasted the traditional political parties for backwardness of Bhaderwah.
Addressing a day long Apni Party worker’s convention in Bhaderwah, Manjit Singh expressed serious concern over the poor development in Bhaderwah where from towering politicians have come and ruled J&K.
The convention was organized by Provincial president Legal Wing, Apni Party Vikram Rathore.
“These politicians associated with the traditional political parties neglected the development of the region which deserved to be promoted on the tourism map with adequate infrastructure i.e., better roads and accommodations for the tourists visiting the famous destinations in Bhaderwah,” he said.
Singh said that the condition of roads in remote areas is in the worst condition and in many villages people still have to cover long distances on foot with no hope of road connectivity in near future.
“The hopelessness among the people have increased in the last four to five years after the collapse of coalition alliance partners and then the downgrading of J&K state to Union Territory and snatching of the constitutional rights of the people of erstwhile state,” he said.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir feel cheated by the previous Govts and politicians. Similarly, the bureaucrats have completely failed to come up to the expectations of the people and their conduct with the people often remains arrogant which is unacceptable.
“These Govt officers have disheartened the people with their behaviour. They hardly remain available in their offices,” he said while pointing out the suffering of Bhaderwah.
He said that the roads, health, education and tourism sectors are among the worst hit in Bhaderwah where the Govt could have worked for the betterment of the people but they did nothing in the last four to five years.
“Even in the last seven decades, the traditional political parties like NC, Congress, PDP and BJP have assured development to the people in their election campaigns, but then did nothing. Hence, the people were deprived of their right to get better roads, health institutions, staff in schools and PHCs,” he said.
For decades the condition of this region has remained unchanged although some political parties claim they have done development in Chenab valley but it is missing on the ground.
Prominent among those who were present in the convention include Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Dr Rohit Gupta, Saleem Alam, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Vipul Bali and others.
