JAMMU, Sept 28: Two times MLA from Udhampur and former president J&K, Panthers Party, Balwant Singh Mankotia is all set to join BJP within days.
The former MLA who is camping in New Delhi for last two days met some senior party leaders including party national general secretary and in charge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh and Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh.
Party sources said that Mankotia held detailed meeting with Dr Jitendra Singh for one hour yesterday and today as well and discussed the pros and cons of joining the party. He also held a meeting with Tarun Chugh in connection with a party meeting of BJP national general secretaries with party national president, JP Nadda.
Sources said that Mankotia may likely join the party at New Delhi during the ongoing auspicious festival of Navratras in presence of senior BJP leaders including national president, J P Nadda.
It may be recalled that Mankotia was expelled from Aam Aadmi Party which he had joined couple of months back after party accused him of indulging in anti party activities.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina, while confirming that Mankotia is going to join the party said that he is in Union Capital at present and besides, Tarun Chugh and Dr Jitendra Singh he will also meet Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and party national president, J P Nadda. Raina said Mankotia is a young and promising leader and BJP will welcome him with open arms.
