UDHAMPUR, July 23: Further intensifying the anti- drugs campaign at Udhampur, Dogra Kranti Dal (NGO) will organise 9th marathon in series on July 28 (Sunday), which will commence from Krimchi Mansar and culminate at Horse Ground while as a mega marathon will be organised on September 22, 2019 from Syal Sallan to Modi Ground at Udhampur.
This was informed by Dogra Kranti Dal chief patron and president of JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia, while addressing a press conference, here today.
Expressing deep concern over increasing drugs abuse cases in Udhampur, he said that from the last two years, DKD has been organising such marathon and other sports activities with the motive to channelise the energy of youngsters in positive direction.
He disclosed that in mega marathon on September 22, Rs 51,000 cash prize will be given to first winner, whereas Rs 31,000, Rs 21,000 & Rs 11,000 cash prizes will be given to those on Second, Third & Fourth position, respectively. “Such marathons have evoked huge response against drug abuse,” he said and appealed the youngsters to participate in maximum numbers in the upcoming marathons.
Councillor Samnik Bhasin, Sarpanch Ashok Kumar and Pawan Mehra were also present in the press conference.
