KATHUA, June 21: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurated additional building of Government High School Dharamkote in Billawar today.
These four classrooms have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 49 lakh under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan Scheme (RMSA), work of which was executed by PWD ( R&B) agency.
On the occasion, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said Government has laid stress on providing educational infrastructure to uncovered areas of the state for which several new schools and colleges were opened during the present regime of Coalition Government. He said state has witnessed huge transformation in education sector resulting steep increase in the enrollment of students hailing from rural pockets pursuing higher education. The object is to provide congenial atmosphere to the students to make them good assets for the society, he added.
The Minister said the Government has emphasized the need to give ample opportunities to the youth by nurturing their talent and skill to add their contribution in the state development.
Dr Sharma also interacted with the deputations and got detailed account of their problems and demands.
The issues highlighted by the inhabitants included funds for levelling and boundary wall of the school, pending MGNREGA wages, scarcity of drinking water and problem of low voltage in the area.
The Minister passed directions to the concerned heads of the department to redress people’s problems within time, exhorted upon them to apprise him about the action taken by them.
Collector, Thein Dam, Dy CEO Billawar, ZEO Bhaddu, XEn PWD( R&B), Sarpanchs of Bhaddu, Dharamkote and people in large numbers were present on the occasion.
